According to Joel T. Cramer, assistant professor of exercise physiology at the University of Oklahoma, a new weight-loss product being studied by the university’s Health and Exercise Science Department has the potential to burn as many calories as a 20-minute walk.

General Nutrition Centers, according to Cramer, worked with OU to evaluate the weight-loss advantages of a nutritional supplement called the tri-pepper blend, which comprises black pepper, caffeine, and a concentrated amount of capsaicin, the hot-pepper component. According to Cramer, the OU study found energy expenditures of three to six percent, which are statistically significant enough to back up product weight-loss claims.

The supplement or a placebo was administered to a set of participants in the trial, followed by a metabolic rate test. Participants’ oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production were assessed in order to assess their metabolic rate after receiving the supplements. The weight reduction supplement’s viability was proven by the research.
