According to Joel T. Cramer, assistant professor of exercise physiology at the University of Oklahoma, a new weight-loss product being studied by the university’s Health and Exercise Science Department has the potential to burn as many calories as a 20-minute walk.

General Nutrition Centers, according to Cramer, worked with OU to evaluate the weight-loss advantages of a nutritional supplement called the tri-pepper blend, which comprises black pepper, caffeine, and a concentrated amount of capsaicin, the hot-pepper component. According to Cramer, the OU study found energy expenditures of three to six percent, which are statistically significant enough to back up product weight-loss claims.

The supplement or a placebo was administered to a set of participants in the trial, followed by a metabolic rate test. Participants’ oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production were assessed in order to assess their metabolic rate after receiving the supplements. The weight reduction supplement’s viability was proven by the research.

According to previous studies, black pepper and capsaicin provide the following health benefits.

Peppercorns:

Piperine, a chemical found in black pepper, improves metabolic function and reduces fat storage in the body. Obesity can be effectively managed with black pepper tea. Black pepper also aids in nutrient absorption in the body.

Black pepper inhibits the buildup of body fat and the development of new fat cells.

Black pepper increases metabolism and aids in calorie burning.

Obesity-induced oxidative damage is prevented by black pepper.

Capsaicin:

Capsaicin boosts your metabolism. Treatment with capsaicin aids in the control of specific proteins that are important in the body’s lipid metabolism.

Capsaicin aids in the reduction of body fat formation as well as the burning of fats that have been deposited.

Capsaicin’s ability has been tested in animal models, with capsaicin consumption resulting in a decrease in serum triglycerides and adipose tissues (fat cells) in the body.

Capsaicin helps to reduce blood sugar levels. When the body obtains more glucose than it needs for energy production, it begins to store the surplus as lipids and glycogen for later use.

Capsaicin ingestion aids in appetite management. Capsaicin also aids in the suppression of hunger signals, resulting in lower calorie consumption and weight loss.
